I brought the used automobile (2000 Hyundai Elantra) with 130,000 miles upon it, as well as 3 days after the delivery went whilst i was upon the main road as well as i could not move. The seller concluded to implement the used delivery for $1000 as well as charged me $350 for work though when i got my automobile behind after removing it towed, it one after another to hit forward. we filied the consumer censure opposite them as well as they responded by observant they commissioned the used delivery for $500. we wish to sue since i hold they have been perplexing to get over as well as cover up the actuality which the automobile was primarily in bad shape. The check engine light came upon the subsequent day as well as the owners reset the check engine light as well as finished it appear similar to the automobile was fine. we only consternation if the decider would order fairly.. The taking doesnt even have the transparent relapse of what they did..any automobile emporium when they do the work upon the car, they furnish the minute receipt, “took out aged transmission, took out delivery case, commissioned used unit, transposed screws” taking says “transmission assembly” as well as thats all!!! Im the college tyro with the bad used car, interrogation about what can be done..

you answered your own question, the car was sold to you as is, of course you wont win in court. if the company did faulty repairs on your vehicle afterwords that is a totally different issue. but covering up the fact that the car was in bad shape? whenever you buy a car that is “as is” the car is most likely in bad shape, thats why they are not offering a warranty or any guarantees
Did you buy from private owner or dealer. Some dealer have to give you certain warranty on the drive train when you buy from them. But if it was from a private owner, they do not have to fix anything on it, especially when it was sold “as is”. Also, keep in mind that it had 130K. If it was a dealership, you might have a change on winning. If it was a private seller, I don’t think you would win. Good Luck.
Sorry, but no. You bought the car AS IS. Just like it said.
You have no claim about the car initially being in bad shape, because it was sold as-is. You may or may not have something in that you paid them to fix it and they put in another possibly faulty part. In all likelyhood, it will cost you more to take them to court than to just forget about it and move on. File a complaint with your local BBB.
You will more than likely lose. This car was sold “As Is – No Warranty”. What part of “As Is” don’t you understand?
You would have to provide solid evidence that the dealer took specific action to conceal that there was a problem with the transmission in this car. You need solid evidence, not just someones opinion. The burden of proof is on you.
All the dealer needs to show that this car is over 8 years old with well over 100,000 miles on it. On any vehicle this old, anything can happen.
You will also be asked if you had a mechanic look at the car before you bought it. I doubt you did.
Sorry for the bad news. Learn from it.
If the car was sold “as is” it basically becomes the buyer’s responsibility to have the car checked out before purchasing it. The seller is not responsible for anything that happens to the car once it pulls off of his property.
As for the detailed receipt, my mechanic has never given a receipt detailing every step. “transmission assembly” would be a standard entry for a receipt, at least in my experience.
Unfortunately, you really have no recourse. Never buy a used car without having it checked over by an independent mechanic first.
that tells you not to buy cars that are over 130000 miles being from2000 you got to see this stuff carefully mayb for the money its right but you need to wait and get the right deal speacially on a hyudai its like the cheap brand of honda when honda its cheap
