sorry sounds like its about on its last leg might want to shoot it and but it down sorry soneds like your putting moreinto it than it worth to go buy a used one in better shape sure you say you dont have the money buit hey what your spending on repairs wel l that would make a payment advice put a forsale checp sign on it price it lay low and get rid of the money pit go shop for a used truck thats in better shape
Likely a fuel pump or bad fuel pump relay/fuse. You can test before you throw money and time at it.
Sounds like you need get a loan from Oboma & go to school & become a mechanic makesure it is getting gas.Then ck.the dist see if montorer is good see if it is firing
It does in fact sound like a fuel pump. i suggest starting there. The simple way to check that is to disconnect the inlet port of the fuel filter, and turn the car on. If fuel runs out of the line, then it could be a clogged filter. If not, I suggest a new pump. This is very common with fuel injection Chevrolets.
Because of you mentioning timing being out it could possibly be the timing chain. Check this by putting your timing mark on 0 then remove distributor cap and with socket and brakeover bar turn crank in opposite direction while watching rotter, as soon as you see rotter move, check timing mark to see how much slack is in chain and gears. About 4 degrees is max acctable.
my dads 92 has pulled about 80% of this stuff over the past 4 years….id say you need a new fuel pump….unless your truck has like 300,000 miles, then its probbably dead
